About the Role
Overview
We are partnering with a market-leading national title insurance provider seeking an experienced Commercial Title Underwriter to join their growing team. This is a high-impact role focused on complex, high-value commercial transactions across a broad range of asset classes.
Key Responsibilities
Review and underwrite complex commercial real estate transactions including multi-site, multi-state, and high-liability deals
Analyze title searches, surveys, entity documents, and closing documentation
Identify and resolve title issues, defects, liens, and encumbrances
Draft and issue title commitments, pro formas, policies, and endorsements
Provide underwriting guidance to escrow officers, attorneys, and clients
Assess and manage underwriting risk in line with company guidelines and regulatory requirements
Support business development efforts by building strong relationships with attorneys, lenders, developers, and internal teams
Requirements
5+ years of commercial title underwriting experience
Strong working knowledge of ALTA policies, endorsements, and commercial underwriting standards
Proven experience handling high-liability and complex transactions
Excellent analytical, risk assessment, and problem-solving skills
Strong communication skills with the ability to advise senior stakeholders
State underwriting authority (where required)
